About the Opportunity

CentacareCQ has opportunity for part-time Senior Support Workers to join their dedicated Individual Support Team, based in Rockhampton (20hrs+ per fortnight).

These positions operate as part of CentacareCQ’s Individual Support Team – providing a range of maintenance and support services to eligible clients living in the community. CentacareCQ supports these clients, which range from the elderly, to younger people with moderate to severe disabilities, to remain living safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Duties of a Senior Support Worker include:

Operational Support

  • Providing appropriate support to workers, and critical incident response as required
  • Maintaining worker equipment and be primary liaison point for the roster team for onsite issues
  • Communicating with case managers, care coordinators and other relevant stakeholders regarding clients

Service Provision

  • Provide support services to clients as outlined in the relevant Direct Care Worker, Home Help Worker or Direct Support Worker position description, as per roster

Staff Communication

  • Conducting regular support worker staff meetings - in partnership with other Senior Support Workers and under the direction of the Individual Support Coordinator
  • Attending the support worker ‘Communications Champions’ working group and raising relevant issues with management.

Line Management 

  • Providing regular line management to assigned support workers
  • Undertaking annual employee census and ensuring all employee records are current

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintaining confidentiality and duty of care
  • Participating in regular line management and undertaking professional development
  • Complying with CentacareCQ’s policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
